Studio Report 8: Method

The new exhibition series in the foyer of the Bechtler Stiftung opens with Studio Report 8: Method. Curated by artists Tereza Glazova and Nicole Hirschi, the exhibition examines artistic methods and the conditions through which works take shape.

Studio Report is an exhibition series initiated by artists and curators Tereza Glazova and Nicole Hirschi. Since 2024, they have taken the studio as their point of departure, bringing together emerging artistic positions from Switzerland with international guests. At the centre of the series is their curiosity about other artists, their working processes and the questions that shape their practices, as well as an interest in exchange, collective thinking and an ongoing engagement with art. This proximity to artistic practice also informs their curatorial work. Glazova and Hirschi develop each edition in direct dialogue with the invited artists, while also presenting works of their own. From the selection of artists to the poster, text and communications, through to the photographic documentation, they shape the entire process themselves. With Studio Report 8: Method at the Bechtler Stiftung, the series leaves the apple for the first time and enters a new spatial and institutional context.

Tereza Glazova (1996, Riga) and Nicole Hirschi (1994, Zug) live and work in Zurich. Glazova studied Fine Arts at BA and MA level at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK); Hirschi studied Design and is currently completing an MA in Fine Arts. Together, they run the apple in the former premises of the Hirslanden pharmacy on Forchstrasse. The former retail space now serves as the exhibition space, with studios for five artists located behind it. The façade is also part of the programme and features permanent artworks.
