Schollen aus der Vogelschau
26.10. — 26.04.2026
The Bechtler Stiftung presents Schollen aus der Vogelschau, showcasing the most recent works of the artist duo who have been transforming everyday objects into art for over twenty years.
Andres Lutz and Anders Guggisberg work with materials such as wood, concrete, and found objects, which they rearrange in new contexts. Their works include sculptures, large-scale installations, painting, photography, and video. They invite viewers to engage with questions of consumer culture, sustainability, and the value of everyday materials.
The exhibition explores the transformation of familiar, used materials into artistic objects, raising questions about the significance of resources in modern society. Used materials are repurposed, refined, and given a new purpose. For example, a kitchen blower found at the side of the road becomes a congress center, and a cubic plastic bucket turns into a sculpture. These architectural objects are placed in park-like, agglomerative settings – with tennis courts, benches, green Robydog bins, and wasteland strips that point to the modern landscape, shaped by traffic and industrialization: "Over there begins a field of solar panels, behind it the wasteland strip and the highway entrance – the regular Mediterranean horror, which, however, through the meticulous work of the two very diligent artists, undergoes a positive metamorphosis." The model-like, sculptural table objects are complemented by integrated video elements and a musical soundscape that further deepens the play of transformation and perception.
